The workshop discussed the importance of effective communication in the mediation process and the techniques that mediators can use to improve their communication skills. Dr. Yakacak emphasized the importance of mediators developing skills such as understanding the emotions of the parties, empathizing, listening effectively and asking open-ended questions. The theoretical skills gained were reinforced by performing 2 practical exercises within the scope of the workshop.
One of the mediators who attended the workshop, Dr. Feedback was received that Gülnihal Ahter Yakacak's presentation and the information she gave were very useful and helped them improve their communication skills during the mediation process.
