Our Center Director Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu, in her interview with Anadolu Agency, emphasized that artificial intelligence and algorithms used in recruitment processes may damage the principle of equality by causing discrimination due to prejudices, and therefore the effects on human rights and labor law should be carefully examined.

In an interview with Anadolu Agency (AA), our Center Director Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu pointed out that artificial intelligence and algorithms can cause discrimination in recruitment processes. Stating that the algorithms used especially in recruitment disadvantage certain groups due to biases in the data, our director emphasized that this situation is against the principle of equality.

Our director stated that the effects of artificial intelligence on human rights and labor law should be carefully examined. He also reminded that digitalization brings risks as well as opportunities, and that steps should be taken to take the necessary legal regulations and measures to prevent algorithmic discrimination.
