The fifth program in the Family Mediation Series was held under the title "Dissolution of Marital Property Regimes in Family Mediation." The program was moderated by Attorney and Mediator Cansev Turan, and featured Attorney and Mediator Neriman Uygur as a speaker.
The webinar focused particularly on concepts such as participation claims, capital gains shares, and contribution claims within the framework of the community property regime. The termination of the marital property regime, the date of dissolution, the determination of assets and liabilities, the impact of expert reports on the mediation process, and the reflection of the parties' economic expectations in the negotiation process were discussed in detail.
The program also discussed how a mediator should manage the process in such disputes involving technical calculations, how to consider the power imbalance between the parties, and the impact of emotional conflicts on economic demands. Solutions were shared through practical example scenarios, and the time and cost advantages of mediation compared to the judicial process in property division matters were highlighted.
The event was broadcast live on UÇAM's YouTube channel.
