Our Board Member of the Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center, Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak, Head of the Department of Civil Procedure, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law, and our Deputy Director of UÇAM, Dr. Ömer Faruk Kafalı, a faculty member of the Department of Civil Procedure, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law, attended the conference titled “International Economic Law in a Fractured Global Order,” held as part of the Boğaziçi University International Law Conference 2026, which took place at Boğaziçi University on June 13-14, 2026.
The conference addressed current issues in international economic law; Topics such as international investment law, international trade law, finance law, sustainability, energy investments, economic sanctions, new technologies, and the transformation of the global economic order were discussed in different sessions.
Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak presented a paper titled “The Role of Arbitration in Shaping International Economic Relations: Between Party Autonomy, State Sovereignty, and Market Efficiency” in the session titled “International Investment Law II: Sustainability, Participation, and Dispute Governance.”
Dr. Ömer Faruk Kafalı served as moderator in the session titled “International Finance Law II: Trust, Accountability, and Ethics.”
The conference brought together academics and practitioners working in the field of international economic law, making a significant contribution to the discussion of the role of law and dispute resolution mechanisms in the face of the changing dynamics of the global economic order.
