Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak Serves as Moderator at the 7th Energy Disputes Congress

Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak—a member of the Board of Directors of the Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center (UÇAM) at Ibn Haldun University and Head of the Department of Civil Procedure, Enforcement, and Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law—served as a moderator at the "7th Energy Disputes Congress," held on October 15, 2026, at the Litai Hotel in Ankara.

Organized by the Energy Law Research Institute and the Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC), the congress addressed various aspects of current legal challenges in the energy sector, regulatory actions within energy markets, disputes arising from energy contracts, and the methods for resolving such conflicts.

Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak moderated the fourth session of the congress, which focused on arbitration practices in energy disputes. The session covered topics including the role of international arbitration during geopolitical energy crises, Türkiye’s experience with investment arbitration in the context of energy disputes, transit disputes within electricity grids, the significance of technical experts and expert testimony in energy arbitration, and recent case studies involving energy disputes in international investment arbitration.

The congress brought together academics, legal professionals, and industry representatives to evaluate the legal dimensions of disputes emerging within the energy sector and to discuss the role of alternative dispute resolution methods in this field.
