Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak Moderated the Conference Titled “How Much State Courts Control in Arbitration?”.
Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak, a member of the Board of Directors of the Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center and a faculty member of the Department of Civil Procedure, Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law at the Faculty of Law, moderated the conference titled “How Much State Courts Control in Arbitration?” held on June 16, 2026, at the Istanbul Commerce University Ahi Çelebi Campus Conference Center.
The conference, which addressed the scope of state courts' supervisory authority in arbitration proceedings, evaluated court intervention in arbitration, the review of arbitral awards, and the boundaries of the relationship between arbitration and state justice within the framework of different legal systems and application examples.
Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanıtez delivered the opening speech. The conference, moderated by Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak and Attorney Yalın Akmenek, featured Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak as a moderator. Pascal Pichonnaz, Dr. Philip Wagner, Prof. Dr. Ercüment Erdem, and Attorney Simel Sarıalioğlu contributed as speakers.
The conference provided an opportunity for academics and practitioners to jointly evaluate the limits of judicial review in arbitration law and current debates in practice.
