A Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Arbitration was Signed Between Ibn Haldun University and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University
Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center (UÇAM) Director Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu and UÇAM Board Member, International Law and Human Rights Center (UHAM) Director Dr. Lecturer Gülnihal Ahter Yakacak. On 26 November 2024, Gülnihal Ahter Yakacak, Board Member of UÇAM and Director of the International Law and Human Rights Center (IHAM), Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş, Dean of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBÜ) Faculty of Law, and Dr. Cansu Korkmaz, Director of AYBÜ International Arbitration Application and Research Center. She visited Prof. Dr. Cansu Korkmaz.

During this important visit, following the meetings held to strengthen the cooperation of the two universities in the field of arbitration, a “Cooperation Protocol” was signed to carry out joint activities at national and international level with the aim of developing the arbitration institution in Turkey and raising awareness in this field.

Within the scope of the protocol, it is planned to cooperate in supporting academic research in the field of arbitration, organizing conferences and workshops, and promoting practices in accordance with international arbitration standards. It is also aimed to implement joint training programs and projects to increase Turkey's international competitiveness in the field of arbitration. 

Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu stated that this cooperation is an important milestone in terms of disseminating the arbitration culture and said, “As UÇAM, together with AYBÜ, we aim to create a stronger arbitration structure by combining academic knowledge in this field with practical applications.”

Dr. Cansu Korkmaz stated that this cooperation in the field of arbitration will contribute not only to the two universities, but also to Turkey's position in the international legal system.

After the signing ceremony, both parties emphasized that this protocol will further academic cooperation and pave the way for important projects to develop arbitration processes. This initiative was considered as a strong step for Turkey to become a national and international center in the field of arbitration.
