Symposium on the Future of Mediation

Symposium on the Future of Mediation

The ‘Future of Mediation Symposium’, organized by the Dispute Resolution Practice and Research Center (UCAM) of Ibn Haldun University, is a continuing academic event series designed to systematically address the evolving needs of mediation law, transformations in practice, and the search for new approaches. The symposium aims to evaluate mediation not only at the legislative level, but also through its institutional capacity, quality of practice, professional standards, education, technology, and social impact dimensions.

Within this framework, the symposium brings together academics, practitioners, and representatives from the public and private sectors on a common platform, fostering a shared space for discussion. While the presented studies integrate diverse perspectives, they also contribute to the development of concrete proposals aimed at strengthening mediation practice. The event series is structured with an approach that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, places contemporary issues at its core, and prioritizes the creation of a forward-looking roadmap for the future of mediation.

UCAM aims to organize the ‘Future of Mediation Symposium’ on a regular biennial basis. The first two editions of the symposium have been successfully completed, and particular importance has been attached to the dissemination and accessibility of academic outputs in order to ensure the sustainability of the accumulated knowledge. The upcoming symposium is planned as a continuation of this commitment to continuity, with the objective of addressing current debates on the future of mediation from a broader perspective.
